Learning to lead climb opens up a whole new climbing world. Much of the world’s finest climbing requires you to have that skill and is therefore a natural step for all climbers who want to widen their experiences.
The course lasts for two full days at one or two of Bohuslän’s appropriate crags. The purpose of the course is to learn how to lead climb on self placed protection on single pitch routes, or as a team member with more experienced climbers on multi pitch routes. The focus is on climbing safe, placing good protection and to build safe stands.
Our basic course follow the norms of the Swedish Climbing Association and is led by an UIAA authorized climbing instructor.
You learn
• Place and evaluate cams and nuts
• Use and evaluation of glue and drill bolts
• Use and evaluation of protection in solid objects such as trees and rocks
• Multi pitch repelling
• Belaying of lead climber from stand both the ground and the cliff
• Belaying of second climber with brake in guide position and HMS knot directly in stand
• Prusik climbing.
• Movement on the rock and climbing techniques
• And much more
Moving on
When you are looking into climbing long routes it is important to learn how to handle various situations that may arise. You will learn that on our rescue courses.
Lunch / coffee
Please let us also fix your lunch and coffee. Order for an extra cost of 200 SEK per day. Our climbing lunch is an organic pasta salad with chicken, served with dressing, freshly baked bread and butter. We round that off with mom Lena’s homemade organic cinnamon buns and a coffee. Maybe even an espresso.
