Alpine ski touring in Norway is among the most fantastic stuff you can do. Standing on a peak you just climbed with fifteen hundred meters of powder between you and the fjord below is hard to beat. In April, when the season is at its best, we are based in Eresfjord / Eikesdalen, one of Norway’s and the world’s best alpine ski touring areas. Join us for a week (or several weeks) of great and unforgettable outdoor and skiing experiences.
All through the week we guide you to classic peaks like Flötatind, Göksøyra, Skjorta and Blånebba. And most likely to a few other peaks as well. All depending on weather and snow conditions during our six days of skiing. Besides wonderful nature and skiing experiences you will learn lots about off-piste skiing, ski touring, snow, avalanches and staying safe in the mountains.
Accommodation
In a breathtaking location we stay in modern and stylish lodges right at the shore either of Lake Eikesdalsvattnet or Eresfjord. We sleep in double rooms and enjoy facilities like hot showers, washing machine and free wifi.

Testimonials
I'm not a great writer, so I'll be brief. I always feel like I'm in good hands and you know what you're doing. The idea of making food together is also a good one. It promotes contacts in the group and time passes quickly. I'm thinking that you shouldn't change anything. I thank you for a great week.

Thank you, Jocke and John, for a fantastic week! Truly world-class skiing and guiding! In addition, such good food and fun company in the group. I'm so glad we joined at short notice. Thank you Marie Lindefeldt for that!

The physical location of the place and the amount of fresh snow which fell, along with the variety of mountain weather, were highlights of the trip, as well as the good selection of routes available even in somewhat difficult weather/avalanche conditions. I also appreciated the local food sourcing and focus on sustainability! It was better than expected.

Travel to and from
You will need to get to Norway on your own. Below are a few travel options to consider.
- By car. If you come from reasonably close your best option might be to drive. That will of course get you all the way to your final destination, Eresfjord. From Göteborg you have a good 10 hour (800 km) drive, from Stockholm 11 hours (840 km) and from Oslo a shorter 6,5 hour (510 km) drive. On top of that you should plan for breaks, of course. Should you decide to drive we will try to matchmake to see if you can share your ride with someone else starting from a place near you. All because of sustainability reasons, but also because it’s nice to get to know other skier(s) already on the journey to Norway.
- By train. There is train connection to Åndalsnes, 80 km’s (one hour) from Eresfjord. Besides being a sustainable option it’s also a beautiful train ride in itself, that can be considered a great part of your journey and experience of the area. If you arrive by train we will arrange for a pickup on your day of arrival. We aim to pick you up at 18.00, in time to reach Eresfjord when our welcome dinner is being served. Same thing applies for the departure when we will drop you off in Åndalsnes at 10.00 on your last day. Please note that times are preliminary and will be communicated as soon as we have transportation plans for the whole group.
- By air. If you come from afar, it’s probably most convenient to fly. You will then have two options. The one we really recommend is flying to Oslo (Gardermoen Airport) and then continue by train (five hours) to Åndalsnes. Pickup and drop off will be arranged as above. Your other, if for any reason necessary, option, is to fly to Molde. Just like for Åndalsnes we will arrange for pickup and drop off at the airport. Preliminary times are 18.00 for pickup and 10.00 for drop off. From Molde we have roughly one hour’s drive to our accommodation in Eresfjord. Please note that flights to Molde will most likely land in Oslo (Gardermoen) and include a change of plane for your last leg to Molde. By choosing the train instead we will be gentle to the planet. And we like that, don’t we?
Time & Place
We will meet in our accommodation in Eresfjord on the afternoon / evening of the first day. If you drive your own car it’s good to plan for an arrival around 16-17. If you arrive by train or air we will pick you up at your point of arrival and drop you off again when the week is over. All local transport, to and from the mountains, is by our minibus or car.
Previous experience
Our ski touring weeks have slightly varying levels of difficulty. Based on the descriptions below you should be able to find the perfect week for you. If you are uncertain about your own experience and ability, please drop us an e-mail or give us a call and we will be happy to help. Please note that level of difficulty and length will overlap between weeks and what we actually do will always be determined by weather and snow conditions, as well as the ability and wishes of the group.
- Green level. Skiing at a moderate gradient, mostly below 30 degrees, in varying snow conditions. You don’t need to have any previous experience of ski touring with skins before. We keep a low pace that makes you last longer. Tours usually vary between 700 – 1200 vertical meters.
- Blue level. Skiing at varying gradients, sometimes up to around 40 degrees in good snow conditions. It is recommended to have tried ski touring with skins before. We keep a low steady pace that makes you last longer, but be prepared for longer days with tours between 800 – 1500 vertical meters.
- Red level. Skiing can have steep exposed sections or persistent slopes around 40 degrees. You need to have previous experience of ski touring with skins in alpine terrain. We often do long tours of up to 1500 vertical meters, but break off with days of “shorter tours” around 1000 vertical meters. Ski crampons, (boot) crampons, ice axe and harness are required. Feel free to bring your own or let us know if you need to rent.
